Sky Above Frames Per Second

︎Screening curated by Shahrzad Jahan

This screening brings together three films that navigate memory, displacement, and the fragile relationship between personal and collective histories. Moving between documentary, experimental cinema, and poetic narrative, the works by Mahyar Mandegar, Sahand Sarhadi, and Kimia Khatibzadeh reflect on Iran through fragmented images, everyday gestures, and acts of remembrance.

Curated by Shahrzad Jahan, the program considers what it means to remain connected to a place from afar — through archives, through memory, and through the people we continue to love across distance. Each film resists singular narratives, instead creating space for contradiction, intimacy, grief, and imagination. Together, they form a constellation of perspectives on home: not as a fixed geography, but as something continuously reconstructed through image, longing, and survival.
