Sahand Sarhadi


Sahand Sarhaddi is a filmmaker & visual artist working with historical archives, literature, and photography, seeking innovative narrative pathways through unconventional explorations of history and unofficial stories.

An alumnus of Berlinale Talents 2023, he has participated in over ten solo and group exhibitions (photography, video art, performance) and created three short films and one feature-length film.

His work has been screened and awarded at festivals such as Berlinale, Ji.hlava, Fipadoc, Kasseler Dok, Black Movie, Movies that Matter, Tehran Short, Cinema Verite, Fajr, and VideoFormes — including the Best International Shorts Award (Ethnocineca 2025), Emerging Video Prize (VIDEOFORMES 2024), Arte Laguna Prize Finalist (Venice 2024), Best Short Documentary of the 2010s (Iranian Cinema 2021), and Best Short Film of the Year (Fidan Magazine 2021/2023/2024).
