Kimia Khatibzadeh

Kimia Khatibzadeh (b. 1994) is a documentary artist working across film, performance, and installation. With a background in theater and performance art, she turned to filmmaking to engage more directly with the nuances of daily life. She draws inspiration from the mundane, the people closest to her, and the quiet rhythms that shape daily existence. Her work explores personal-political narratives, often examining the tension between memory and reality, how we recall time, and what slips through the cracks of documentation. Originally from Iran, she is now completing her MFA in Documentary Media at Toronto Metropolitan University.
